THE BASICS

BORN: WASHINGTON D.C.

HOMETOWN: HOOKSETT, NH

SIGN: SAGITARIUS

CONNECT:

I had a terrible stutter as a boy and a huge gap between my front teeth. For the record, my mother cut my hair.

When I was young, I wanted to be an oceanographer like Jacques Cousteau, a cartoonist like Paul Szep, a filmmaker like Steven Spielberg, a singer like James Taylor, and a basketball player like John Havlicek. Still do.

COLLEGE: UNIVERSITY OF NEW HAMPSHIRE ’87

STUDIED: BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

DISCOVERED: I DIDN’T LIKE BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

DECIDED: TO BE A SCREENWRITER

Got married and raised two kids in Gorham, Maine. Without a doubt, being a father to these two beautiful darlings has been the best job I’ve ever had. Still is.

“With the publication of Wide-Open World, I am hard at work on my next book, a follow-up story called Mission about life at an Indian orphanage.”

MY PASSION

In addition to writing, I run a small organization that finds and funds the best people and projects supporting orphaned children worldwide. Having spent a majority of my time living at an Indian orphanage for the past three years, I can say first hand that these kids are worth it.

My organization will be called NEW ORPHAN AGE and I hope you’ll join me.
