No place affected me more than the month I spent at the Good Shepherd Agricultural Mission. Located 8 hours east of Delhi, just a few kilometers from the Nepal border, the Mission is run by the Shipway family from Australia, and is home to nearly 100 orphaned or abandoned children. It’s also a 60-acre farm, a working dairy, a sewing center, a leper colony, a welding shop and a carpentry center. Without the aid of government support or outside grants, the Shipways accept 100s of volunteers from all over the world. During our time, we found the children to be beyond adorable, quick to smile and easily pleased. I have no doubt they gave more love to me and my family than we could ever hope to give to them.
